Making Hebden Bridge a better place for all

The Partnership to work with the HB Community Association in 2018

At our AGM on 23rd October the Partnership announced its agreement with Hebden Bridge Community Association (the association which runs the Town Hall) to work more closely together during 2018.

The first public meeting hosted jointly by the two organisations will be on Thursday 14th February 2018 at 7pm in the Waterfront Hall, Hebden Bridge Town Hall. This will be an opportunity for the principal community organisations in the town to let everyone know what they’ve been working on and their plans for the new year.

Our annual Hebden Bridge: Our Town review of the year (combined with our AGM) was held this year on Monday October 23rd.

As in previous years, local community groups and organisations were invited to participate. The tradition is that every group gets two and a half minutes to report on their activities and plans - not a second more!

Last year, 30 groups participated. This year 33 groups took part.

Making Hebden Bridge Accessible for All

The access initiative, Making Hebden Bridge Accessible for All, which has been run jointly by Hebden Bridge Partnership and the Community Foundation for Calderdale has now concluded.  There is much still to do to make our town an exemplar in terms of access, for both local people and visitors with disabilities, but we feel that the project has been a success. Over thirty access audits have been carried out with the participation of local businesses and organisations, and a number of grants have subsequently been awarded for small-scale improvements and remedial work. If you had an audit undertaken, it is still not too late to apply for grant support from the Foundation.
